Famine Relief | We're compelled to feed the hungry and share the love of Christ.

Zimbabwe and surrounding countries are hungry, poor and desperately in need of help. It's not enough to simply share the Gospel, though that is our main purpose. We must meet the basic needs for food that our people have. Our own resources for doing so are limited. Sometimes we have nothing ourselves to give. It's a heart-breaking situation.

Working With the Government
When we do have the resources, the process begins with getting permission from our government to distribute food. We work with them and maintain good standing with our government because without their permission, we could not bring food to starving people.

The Challenge of Logistics
Once we have permission we receive a permit to distribute food on a certain day at a certain location. We then buy the food and transport it to a location used as a feeding center. Very often the process of arranging the transportation and the purchase is a major challenge. It's costly to implement the kind of logistics necessary for such an operation.

Our Ultimate Goal
At the feeding centers, Oasis of Grace workers help distribute maize, corn, beans, cooking oil, rice, sugar and other food items. Some of the food purchased also goes directly to an orphanage run by Oasis of Grace Ministries. Whether it's the feeding center or at the orphanage, our goal by feeding people is to keep them alive, show them the love of Christ, and share the Gospel. This main purpose is what propels us to do what we do.

"...whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become
in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
